Y’all ever read a book that disturbs you so much it fucks with your writing?
#this is about R. F. Kuang’s#yellowface#which truth be told I couldn’t finish because I got too much 2ndhand embarrassment#had to just skim through the last 100 pages cuz I couldn’t take it anymore#I need to learn my lesson and stop trying to read that insufferable traumatized white woman unreliable narrator genre of books#you know#the girl on the train-esque type books#my other personal problem with this book was that it hit a lil too close to home#cuz I’m a korean-American woman who nearly went into the publishing industry#might’ve dodged a bullet there lol#will say though that the book is good#if you like that unreliable narrator traumatized white woman genre I recommend it#moonie posting
